Design Module
General |
Fixed After the addition of the new backup shortcut, the Backup utility command was not remembering the user-defined backup location if one had been saved. Enhanced The report printing module code was revised to simplify how it uses PDF printers and to handle errors within reports without necessarily shutting down the program. |
Project List |
Fixed When the project list was first selected after starting the program, it no longer highlighted the last project that a user had opened. |
Room List |
Fixed Entering a room quantity either directly in the list or by using the editing commands was causing unexpected repositioning of the list. |
FF&E Worksheet |
Fixed A recent change to the worksheet had caused it to not visually update after changes had been saved to related data on other screens (not all users will have seen this). Enhanced The data used in the summary section is being updated more efficiently. The type of numbers being displayed is now automatically selected based on the project billing type. New Reports: The "Projected Profit by Object" and "Projected Profit by Tag Group" reports have been added. Fixed: The option to break pages at each vendor on the "Pricing Detail by Vendor, Spec" report was being ignored. Enhanced The "Pricing Worksheet" now has an option to print any current costs in the specs along with any quote information as a reference (for you or for the vendor) for checking vendor costs. This can be useful when re-pricing specs used in previous projects. New To make use of the new "Revision Date" field on the Specification List screen (see below), two new reports have been added: "Object Revision Status by Tag" and "Specification Revision Status by Spec ID." The object version shows the "revision date" of the object, based on the latest revision date on any component specifications attached to it, while the second shows both the Revision Group and Revision Dates on the individual specs used in the project (again, "used" means they are part of an object that appears on the FF&E Worksheet, not simply listed in the spec list). Each allows you to highlight revision dates on or after a date you specify. Enhanced The Worksheet's Export utility has been enhanced to include the full description for the DBF and XML export formats, which can handle unlimited amounts of text. Note that recent versions of Excel can import an XML file as a table and preserve line breaks within cells with long descriptions. |
Object List |
Enhanced The Object List's Delete command has been modified to optionally delete the specifications associated with the object that is being deleted. Since this is an option, no specs will be deleted automatically. FF&EZ will also prevent the deletion of any specifications that are still used in other objects (in that case, deleting the last object using a spec gives you the option to finally delete that particular spec). |
Specification List |
Enhanced When saving images that you plan to attach to specs into the "temporary images" folders, if you use a temporary file name that is the same as the spec ID, FF&EZ will find the image automatically when you click on the Select button on the spec. For instance, if you are saving a JPEG image of a chair to use for the spec CHR-01, save the image as "CHR-01.JPG" (or "CHR-01.JPEG"). When you later edit that spec and click on the Select button under the image block, FF&EZ will let you know it found CHR-01.JPG and immediately select it for you to confirm. This technique is the same used to set up a batch of images for attaching with the Auto-Images utility, but helps streamline the process of attaching single images, too. New The "Revision Group" field now has an accompanying "Revision Date" field for tracking revision dates on individual specifications. The "Specification Status" reports have been modified to show both of these fields, with an option to highlight revision dates on or after any desired date. See "FF&E Worksheet" above for other related changes. New The "Lead Time " field now appears in the Spec Status block as well as its original location in the Shipping block. This allows you to more easily update lead times when getting a vendor quote. The fields are in synch, so you can update either one. Fixed The optional shared (network) folder for temporary images was not being saved properly. Enhanced The "Specification Detail" and "Specification Sheet" reports now have an option to add full ordering contact information for review. These show information from the main vendor unless a supplier has been selected. Since these are internal review reports, this is turned on by default. |
Purchasing Module
(These only apply if you have the Design/Purchasing version)
Orders |
Enhanced The Processing module's printing function has been rewritten to better handle the peculiarities of different kinds of PDF printers, especially those like the Bullzip PDF printer, which passes the print job to a second process. When printing numbered documents, you will now see a pop-up with instructions for how to use the automatic PDF file name that is copied to your clipboard (paste buffer). The internal handling of previews when using PDF printer has been rewritten and simplified, as well as the way "total pages" is calculated. There is now better error-handling if a problem occurs in a report, which should prevent the program from completely shutting down in most cases. Individual error logs for each user are being created for reporting errors. Fixed Under rare circumstances, manually adding an order could change the quantity of the first item on the order that was highlighted when the Add button was pressed. Enhanced When reprinting orders, the option to control printing of revision notes now includes a separate option to control printing of the revision date "flag" that appears on the affected items. |
