Update Reports

From time to time, new reports may be created for FF&EZ, and existing ones may be enhanced. Additionally, the reporting module has been designed to allow custom reports to be created. Although updated reports will be typically included in updates to the program itself, there may be other times when only the reports are changed. The Update Reports button is used to load report updates.

Report updates will be distributed in compressed update files:

BASERPTS.FDZ        Updates to the standard reports        

CUSTRPTS.FDZ        Updates to custom reports

An update file may be distributed via download or as an attachment to an e-mail message. The steps for loading the update are as follows:

  1. Save the download or attachment to the FF&EZ-Import folder that you will find beneath your personal documents folder, using the appropriate procedure for either method. Don't change the name of the file when you do this.
  2. Select the Utilities option.
  3. Click on the Update Reports button. This will display the Reports Update dialog box. 

  1. Select the type of report you are updating (for most users, this will be the default selection, "Standard FF&EZ Report Formats").
  2. If you saved the update properly into the FF&EZ-Imports format, the Process Update button will already be enabled. If not, use the Browse... button to find it visually. 
  3. Click on the Process Update button. You may see a window open briefly as the update file is automatically expanded, then the reports will be updated.
  4. If you have both types of updates to apply and have already saved them to the expected folder, you can repeat this sequence, starting with step #3.
