Special Handling for Repeated Order Items
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Since purchase orders can be quite long, FF&EZ includes some automatic handling of repeated order items when they are printed within the same order:

Item Splits

If an item is split due to variations in shipping and billing after the order is issued, each listing of a split quantity (after the item's full description is first printed) will be marked as a split of the item above it and the full description will not print again. Note: Item splits are denoted by a number followed by a decimal point. So the second shipping split of "Item 3" will be listed as "Item 3.2"

Duplicate Items

If an item is the exact duplicate of the item just above it, the system will not repeat the full description, but will mark the item as a duplicate of the item above it (the quantity may differ). This will only happen if all of the following on the two items are exactly the same at the time of printing:

Catalog/Model #
Product (short description)
Code
Main Description

The "main description" is the long description up to any "Usage" notes.

If an item is repeated, the system will still print the Catalog/Model #,
Product and Sidemark information along with the quantity and price.

This formatting is done to help highlight items that are actually the same but which have slightly different usages such as being used in different objects.

You can override this behavior and make the full description print by making any change to one of the four fields listed above on the items.
